The tense encounter at the Vitality Stadium carried enormous implications in the title race, with City needing all three points to delay Arsenal’s coronation. But Bournemouth frustrated the former champions for most of the evening and took a surprise lead through rising youngster Junior Kroupi in the opening half.
Although Erling Haaland struck late in added time to rescue a point for Pep Guardiola’s men, the result was not enough to keep their championship hopes alive. The draw officially handed Arsenal the league title with a match still left to play.
Across North London, celebrations erupted immediately after the final whistle. Thousands of Arsenal supporters gathered around the Emirates Stadium as players, coaching staff, and club officials celebrated a historic achievement that ends more than two decades of waiting since the club’s legendary 2003/04 “Invincibles” campaign.
Manager Mikel Arteta received widespread praise for guiding the Gunners back to domestic glory. Since taking charge in 2019, Arteta has rebuilt the squad into one of Europe’s strongest sides after several seasons of heartbreak in close title races.
The latest triumph gives Arsenal their 14th English league championship, strengthening the club’s position among the most decorated teams in the history of English football.
Attention will now shift toward Europe, where Arsenal are preparing for a massive UEFA Champions League final clash later this month against Paris Saint-Germain F.C., raising hopes among supporters that an already unforgettable season could become even more historic.
