Two major Easter events to draw worshippers across Gambia

Two prominent Christian gatherings are set to define the Easter season in The Gambia, as Harvest Intercontinental Church and Calvary United Community Church roll out extensive programs aimed at spiritual renewal and national fellowship.
Harvest Intercontinental Church, located along Manjaikunda road in Kotu Silo, will host its Easter Encounter 2026, beginning with evening services on Thursday, April 2, and Friday, April 3 at 6:00 PM, and climaxing with a Resurrection Sunday service on April 5 at 9:00 AM. The event is centered on the message of Christ’s resurrection, with the host, Apostle Patrick Taylor, inviting worshippers to experience a time of revival under the theme, “He is Risen.”
In a parallel development, Calvary United Community Church has announced a 5-Day National Easter Convention, scheduled to run from Wednesday, April 1 through Sunday, April 5, 2026. The convention will conclude with a grand Sunday morning session from 9:30 AM to 12:00 Noon.
The convention carries the theme: “…Gone Through All, Because of You!” (Isaiah 52:14 NKJV), reflecting on the sacrifice and suffering of Christ. The event is expected to feature a lineup of speakers, including Evangelist John Tyler Masey from Cleveland, Tennessee, USA, alongside other ministers.
Organizers say the National Easter Convention will bring together believers from across the country, creating a platform for collective worship, teaching, and reflection during one of Christianity’s most sacred periods.

With both events taking place within the same Easter window and in close proximity, Kotu is poised to become a major hub of Christian activity, attracting participants from across The Gambia and beyond.
Church leaders from both congregations emphasize that the programs are not only about celebration but also about deep spiritual engagement, offering attendees an opportunity to reconnect with the core message of Easter—hope, sacrifice, and victory through Christ.
As anticipation builds, worshippers are being encouraged to participate fully in what promises to be a spiritually enriching Easter season.
