Saudi Arabian club Al-Kholood FC have reached an agreement to sign Leganés and Guinea international midfielder Seydouba Cissé on a long-term deal, as the wave of transfers to the Saudi Pro League continues to grow.
Transfer specialist and soccer podcaster Fabrizio Romano confirmed the move, saying the deal is done and the player has agreed to a three-year contract that will take effect in July 2026. According to Romano, the transfer was finalized by Cissé’s representatives at ROOF agency after negotiations with the Saudi club were successfully concluded.
Cissé, who currently plays for Spanish side Leganés, has been one of the standout midfielders for both club and country in recent seasons, attracting interest from several teams outside Europe. His move reflects the continued effort by Saudi clubs to recruit players from European leagues as part of the country’s broader push to strengthen its domestic competition and raise the global profile of the Saudi Pro League.
In recent years, Saudi Arabian clubs have increasingly targeted both established stars and emerging talents from Europe, Africa, and South America, offering long-term contracts and competitive salaries to lure players away from traditional leagues.
For Guinea, Cissé’s transfer could provide greater exposure at the international level, while also highlighting the growing influence of Middle Eastern clubs in the global transfer market.
